According to recent statement, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta have confirmed the imminent signing of Hertha Berlin defender Omar Rekik.
Arsenal have been tipped to have a very busy January in terms of transfer and Rekik could signify the start of a very active window.
The 19-year-old defender has been consistently linked with a move to the London Giants since the beginning of the January transfer window, with the rumours peddling since last year.
As quoted by Goal correspondent Charles Watts in the tweet below, Mikel Arteta have literally confirmed the signing of Omar Rekik in his recent interview.
Arteta on Omar Rekik:
"We will announce it when we can, he is a young talent that we have been following for a while that has a really bright future."
On when the announcement could come:
"I don’t know. Very soon."

Mikel Arteta further praised the talent of the defender in his interview and highlighted it as ‘a bright future’.
After Rekik, Arsenal are also being rumoured to be gunning for a creative attacking midfielder and possibly a cheap winger.
Borrusia Dortmund’s attacker Julian Brandt and Norwich’s winger Emi Buendia are the two names being heavily linked with a move to Emirates stadium.
With both players being valued at below £40million each by their respective clubs, it will be no surprise is Arsenal can land a deal for both players.
