Villareal and Spain defender Pau Torres has emerged as a target for Chelsea in the transfer market. Per 90 min football.
Pau Torres is just 24 and has grown into one of the best and most sought after young defenders in Spain and was a primary target for Man Utd in the summer before the club decided to sign Raphael Varane when he became available from Real Madrid in the summer.
Torres has been in fine form this season and has helped Villareal to two clean sheets in their last four games.
90 min football also reports that Bayern Munich defender Niklas Sule is another player Chelsea are eyeing.
Niklas Sule’s contract with Bayern Munich expires next summer meaning he’d be a free agent very soon and Chelsea are looking to swoop for the German defender.
Chelsea find themselves in a complex situation after selling Kurt Zouma to West Ham and every attempt to sign Jules Kounde from Sevilla in the summer proved futile.
Also, three of Chelsea’s centre-backs, Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and Thiago Silva have their contracts expiring next summer and talks are still on for new contracts for Rudiger and Christensen, while it would be assessed at the end of the season whether 37 year old Thiago Silva would be fit and ready to continue at the club.
