It’s no longer news that the transfer window has already been closed in Europe’s top 5 leagues and some of the major leagues. However, transfer activity is still open in Eastern Europe and in Turkey.
Turkish club Galatasaray are now said to be interested in Arsenal midfielder Mohammed Elneny and have made an offer to Arsenal for his services.
Galatasaray narrowly missed out on the league title last season and they’d be looking to mount a title charge this season as they’ve so far strengthened their side with the likes of De Andre Yedlin, Patrick Van Anholt amongst others.
Elneny would be seen as a good addition to the Galatasaray squad given his experience and quality. Though, Arsenal see him as part of their plans this season and the London club is understood to be unwilling to let the midfielder go.
Mohammed Elneny is no stranger to the Turkish league as the Egyptian spent the 2019/20 season on loan at Beskistas after falling out of favour with former Arsenal boss Unai Emery. Mikel Arteta has now given Elneny a new lease of life at Arsenal and he’d be looking to fight for a place in the club’s starting lineup.
The transfer window in Turkey closes by midnight and according to Sky Sports, Galatasaray might be returning with an improved bid before deadline after having their first bid rejected yesterday.
