Tuchel Makes Final Verdict on Saùl Performance against Southampton

It was a perfect evening for Chelsea as they continued their unbeaten run with class as Recce james won the last penalty Shootout kick for Chelsea to award them 4-3 as final Score.

Saùl once again was given an opportunity to showcase himself after been relegated to the bench by players like Loftus Cheek and Ross Barkley who made fantastic use of the chances they had to outclass the On-loan Atletico madrid midfield Meastro.

He performed Good (Not World class) against Southampton and pooped up with some good shots during the game but did nothing exceptional in the middle where a player like Jorginho or Kante would have caused havoc.

Offensively he was pretty solid but Defensively where he was mainly positioned to Replace Jorginho he did close to nothing.

Tuchel was asked what he felt on Saùl Performance against Southampton this was what he said:

” It was a good match, a huge step in the right direction for him. I am happy. We thought maybe he would be struggling with the intensity at the 70th minute but he got better and better, had chances and shots. We thought let’s keep him and give him the minutes. It was a good step for him.”

Thomas Tuchel on the possible Return of players that are Injured;

“Azpi injured his shoulder, let’s see. We hope he will be fit, he is a tough guy. Maybe he will be fit Saturday. Ruben has a pain in his hip, in his joint. Andreas had surgery and should be fine to train Thursday.”

It was a really good game for Chelsea although they had many chances they wasted that could have won the game for them without them going into penalty Shootouts.

Ross Barkley had numerous chances in goal but took too long on the ball to deliver shots that would have won it with a very big margin for Chelsea.
