Thomas Tuchel explained his team selection for the FA Cup final against Leicester City on this evening.
Chelsea will face Leicester City at Wembley in search of their ninth FA Cup trophy. Chelsea wants to avenge their defeat in last year’s final at Wembley.
Tuchel made five changes to his starting team that lost 1-0 to Arsenal on Wednesday, with N’Golo Kante At Wembley, Kante and Kepa Arrizabalaga start for the Blues.
To face Leicester City, Chelsea will field the following lineup: Kepa, Azpilicueta, Silva, Rudiger, James, Jorginho, Kante, Alonso, Ziyech, Werner, Mount.
Mendy, Chilwell, Gilmour, Giroud, Havertz, Hudson-Odoi, Emerson, Pulisic, and Zouma are the players on the bench.
Tuchel had this to say about his team’s selection: “There are a few other players who will be disappointed (at not being selected) and will be able to make an impact from the bench.
“We prefer Marcos (over Ben Chilwell) because of his height and experience.”
When asked whether his selection was a reaction to Arsenal’s loss, Tuchel replied: “Both yes and no. It was a loss of attention and concentration. I didn’t include the team because I didn’t think it was necessary.
