The Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel has mentioned that he is not in support of the UEFA Champions League proposed format to start in the 2024/25 season competition.
According to UEFA, under the new format, teams will play four matches more than is currently the case. They will no longer play three opponents twice – home and away – but will instead face fixtures against 10 different teams, half of them at home and half of them away.
However, Tuchel is unhappy about the new Champions League moment.
I’m not sure if I like it, because I can only see more games out of it.
Did they ask any coach about this? I don’t think so, they did not ask me; did they ask any player about it? I don’t think so.
So many new stuffs and so much more games and we have more teams in the European Championship at summer.
Tuchel emphasized on the need for an improvement in the UEFA number of substitution made in a game.
This thing is not more quality, it is just more games, who should play these games and at the same time, we have three substitutes here in Premier League and the toughest competitions.
