Manchester United host Villareal in matchday 2 of the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday as the Red devils look to bounce back from a disappointing matchday 1 loss to Young Boys fc in Switzerland.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was speaking to the media earlier today and the Norwegian spoke on his player’s availability ahead of tomorrow’s game.
Captain Harry Maguire sustained an injury in the second half of the 0-1 loss to Aston Villa on Saturday and he’s expected to be out while Luke Shaw who also got injured against Aston Villa is a doubt for tomorrow’s game.
Solskjær: “Luke [Shaw] has been in today so I’ll give him a chance to be involved, he didn’t train with the team. Harry [Maguire] is more or less definitely out, it doesn’t look good. It’s his calf, that might take a few weeks.
Solskjær: “I have got Eric [Bailly], Rapha [Varane], Victor [Lindelöf]. Alex [Telles] and Diogo [Dalot] 100 per cent fit. Hopefully Luke Shaw can be involved.”
Manchester United have been without Marcus Rashford since the beginning of the season and the forward trained alongside Amad Dialo outside the rest of the group today. Though, he is not expected to be fit enough to face Villareal tomorrow.
