Tammy Abraham has completed his switch from Chelsea to Roma, following the agreement between both parties (Chelsea and Roma) which includes the addition of a buy back clause which can be activated starting from 2023.
Following Tammy Abraham’s transfer to AS Roma, he took his time to laud two Chelsea players who convinced him to sign for the Giallorossi as he claims that Antonio Rudiger and Emerson Palmieri were both instrumental in the completion of his transfer to the Serie A club.
“They ( Antonio Rudiger and Emerson Palmieri) loved everything, especially Toni Rudiger, he told me he would always play for Roma again,” Says the 23 year old striker when asked about the role Emerson and Rudiger played in his move to the club (Roma).
“Hearing it gave me confidence. As I said, I felt good from day one, I just have to do my best this season and help the team as much as possible.”
Chelsea signed Antonio Rudiger and Emerson Palmieri from AS Roma in the summer and winter transfer window respectively of the 2017/2018 season and they both gave Abraham the go ahead to sign for their former club.
Abraham also bided his time to laud former Chelsea coach José Mourinho as he claims that the 58 year old Portuguese played a very vital role in convincing him to accept a move across Stadio Olimpico.
He says: “Luckily I trained a couple of times with him, I’ve never played with him in the first team. I know what he’s about, I know he’s a big character around the building.
“He has won major trophies and had the experience of working with the best players in the world, so for me to work under him is something that makes me very happy, I can’t wait to get started.”
Tammy Abraham who recently won the UEFA Super Cup trophy with Chelsea will however look forward to filling the shoes of his predecessor Edin Dzeko.
