Southampton coach, Ralph Hasenhüttl has given an honest assessment about Chelsea loanee Armando Broja who is on loan at Southampton.
The 20 year old Albanian striker joined Southampton on the back or impressive performances on loan at Vitesse last season and in pre-season for Chelsea.
Broja scored 10 goals and had 2 assists in 30 Eredivise appearances for Vitesse and he’s already scored twice for Southampton in this season’s EFL cup. The Albanian has however failed to stake a claim for a regular spot at Southampton this season having come off the bench in most of his premier league appearances since joining the club.
Hassenhüttl has given his honest assessment about the player and the German tactician thinks Broja will eventually hit the ground running.
“The first two weeks I was looking what he has to give for me and I didn’t see a lot, to be honest. So I had some very serious conversations with him to tell him what I want to see. He’s a little bit of a slow starter, you need to push him a little bit, and now he’s moving in the direction of what I want to see.”
“It’s impressive how quick he learns and how quick he wants to do it better. I’ve seen why the scouts wanted to sign him. He definitely shows qualities we haven’t had so far in this squad.”
“He did in the last two games when he was coming on – he had a big impact at Newcastle and on Saturday also – and this is for me a very good sign.”
Both Chelsea and Southampton fans would be hoping that Armando Broja hits top form in the premier league this season in order to solve the saints’ sriker issues and at the same time bolster Chelsea’s future attacking options.
