Reports have emanated recently linking Chelsea striker Timo Werner to Bayern Munich and Bayern Munich’s Leroy Sané.
This has led to reports of the possibility of a swap deal for both players. Chelsea are said to be great admirers of Leroy Sané while Timo Werner has reportedly been seen by former RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann as a replacement for the ageing Robert Lewandowski. Hence, the reports suggesting a swap deal seemed quite believable.
Timo Werner at Chelsea has struggled to hit the form that made him one of Europe’s hottest properties in Leipzig and a move to Bayern Munich under the tutelage of former Leipzig boss, Nagelsmann seems like the ideal move.
Leroy Sané meanwhile is arguably Bayern’s most prized asset and obviously it would take more than just a swap deal to make Bayern Munich part ways with the former Man City man.
According to Bundesliga journalist, Florian Plettenberg, “a swap deal is definitely not a topic and sources were amused about this rumour”.
As things stand, an outright and separate sale or transfer for both players seems like the ideal scenario and this happening would mean a return to the leagues where both players caught the eye a couple of seasons ago.
