Russian club, Lokomotiv Moscow has announced the signing of promising attacking midfielder, Faustino Anjorin from Chelsea.
The Anglo-Nigerian midfielder joins the Russian side on a one year loan deal from boyhood club Chelsea. This will be the first time playing outside Chelsea for Anjorin who has been at the club since he was 7 years old.
The 19 year old attacking midfielder is already a champions league winner as he was involved in Chelsea’s triumphant campaign last season. He was a starter in the 1-1 draw against Russian side Krasnodar in the UCL group stages last season.
Anjorin impressed in pre-season and there were initial talks of him remaining at Chelsea in order to add to Thomas Tuchel’s attacking options. However, both the club and the player eventually saw a loan move as the best option for the player and all parties would be hoping he garners more experience while playing for a top Russian side like Lokomotiv Moscow on loan.
Mason Mount and Reece James’ recent successes with the Chelsea first team after successful loan spells at Derby County and Wigan Athletic respectively is quite inspirational for many Cobham products as they’d now fancy their chances of breaking into the Chelsea first team by following similar paths.
