Romelu Lukaku signed for Chelsea from his boyhood club Anderlecht back in 2011, with Chelsea paying up to £17m for his services.

Following successful loan spells away from Chelsea, Lukaku signed for Everton on a permanent basis for £28m back in 2014 where he went on to score 87 goals in 166 appearances across all competitions, including his loan appearances at the club.

Lukaku teamed up with former manager Jose Mourinho at Manchester United back in 2017 as the Portuguese manager gave his go ahead for Manchester United to reunite him with Romelu Lukaku in a deal worth £75m, taking his accumulated transfer fee to £120m.

Romelu Lukaku gradually fell down the pecking order at Manchester United in his second year at Old Trafford and hereby pushed for a move to join Italian giants Inter Milan, in a deal worth £73m where he went on to end Juventus nine year reign as Scudetto champions by scoring 24 goals in 36 Serie A matches to hand the Nerazzurri their first Scudetto title in 10 years during his second season at the club.

However, with Lukaku poised to complete his switch from Inter Milan to Chelsea in a deal worth £98m, his accumulated transfer fee will hit a staggering sum of £291m, hereby surpassing Neymar Jr’s accumulated transfer fee of £269.5m.

Neymar has moved just twice in his career. He moved from Santos to Barcelona in 2013, costing the Catalan giants £71.5m before the Brazilian switched to Paris Saint Germain after four years at Barcelona in a deal worth a jaw-dropping £198m, making him the most expensive single transfer up to date.

Neymar Jr is followed by Cristiano Ronaldo. The five time ballon d’or winner has an accumulated transfer fee of £192m.

Ronaldo signed for Manchester United from Sporting Lisbon for a reported sum of £12m in 2003 before signing for Real Madrid in a then-world record transfer fee of £80m in 2009, taking his accumulated transfer fee to £92m.

Following a series of controversies with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, Ronaldo moved to Serie A giants Juventus in a deal worth £100m back in 2018, taking his overall accumulated transfer fee to £192m.
