Chelsea are reportedly still pushing on quest to sign Rennes Goalkeeper, Mendy despite having signed 17-year-old English youngster.
The Blues still believes adding more alternatives to their goalkeeping role is the ultimatum and as already reported, the Stamford Bridge side are still linked in to Rennes Goalkeeper, Edouard Mendy.
Edouard Mendy remains Frank Lampard’s top target when one talks about replacing Arrizabalaga or better said, securing back-up should the Spanish goalkeeper be slammed with another bad season like the last.
Arrizabalaga is clearly not a bad keeper as his performances in the past led him to Chelsea for a club record fee, its just something general to every footballer that once in a while they should fall out of form.
Frank knows this and that is why he hasn’t sold the goalkeeper who has been rumored to be linked to leaving Stamford Bridge.
Petr Cech has also informed the general public on the club’s plans to give the 25-year-old another chance to prove what he had last season was just an-out-of-form period.
The club still sticks to Willy Caballero who has always provided good replacement services whenever Kepa isn’t feeling himself and its believed that any goalkeeper that comes in wouldn’t warrant the Blues dumping the 38-year-old.
Chelsea have also been rumored in the recent past to be linked to Ajax’s Andre Onana while Paris Saint-Germain’s Alphonse Areola has also been offered to the club. Up till now, the club are still pushing for Mendy alone after announcing much awaited Kai Havertz.
