Chelsea host Man City in what promises to be a fierce premier league encounter tomorrow.
The game is scheduled to be an early kick-off and both sides would be hoping to get a much needed win that would help their title push this season.
Chelsea have been in fine form this season as the Blues are top of the EPL log and are so far unbeaten in all competitions.
Thomas Tuchel’s charges recorded an emphatic 3-0 away win at Tottenham last Sunday followed by a hard fought victory over Aston Villa in a penalty shootout that saw them qualify for the fourth round of the Carabao cup on Wednesday.
Man City meanwhile have enjoyed a mixed start to the current season. After suffering an opening day defeat to Tottenham, the Cityzens bounced back with 3 straight wins but fell short last week as they were held to a barren draw by Southampton after registering just one shot on target all game. The game vs Southampton was however a precipitate of a 6-3 thrashing of RB Leipzig in the Champions League last mid-week.
Pep Guardiola’s charges outclassed Wycombe Wanderers 6-1 on Tuesday in the Carabao cup and they’d be looking to keep that momentum going against Chelsea this weekend.
Chelsea would be without Mason Mount and Christian Pulisic this weekend with the former being ruled out by a minor injury while the former has been out with an ankle injury since he returned from international duty earlier this month.
Goalkeeper Edouard Mendy meanwhile returns after missing the Chelsea’s last two games with an injury.
Manchester City are boosted by the return of Aymeric Laporte, John Stones, and Rodri who are reported to have travel with the squad to London for the game against Chelsea while Oleksandr Zinchenko remains a huge doubt.
Predicted Chelsea xi: Mendy; Rudiger, Thiago Silva, Azpilicueta; James, Kanté, Jorginho, Alonso; Werner, Lukaku, Havertz
Predicted Man City xi: Ederson; Cancelo, Aké, Dias, Walker; Fernandinho, Gundogan, Silva; Foden, Torres, Grealish
Chelsea have beaten Man City in their last 3 encounters with the most recent coming in last season’s Champions League final.
Thomas Tuchel has however played down talks of his side having any psychological as according to him both sides have equal chances of winning tomorrow.
Tuchel: “We have the positive experiences, we know how tough it feels, how much work and input is needed. When I tell you 50-50, I mean 50-50.”
Chelsea are unbeaten this season and have showed no weaknesses in their recent performances. Hence, Chelsea are expected to edge this one. Though, it’s gonna be a tight encounter and a tough tactical battle.
