Man Utd to adopt new playing style that suits Ronaldo

According to reports, Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo has told coach Ole Gunnar Solskjær that Man Utd need to play quicker for him. The Portuguese has made it clear that he can further increase his goal ratio if United become sharper and quicker when distributing the ball in the opposition half. This is according to ESPN’s Mark Ogden.

Mark Ogden reports that the Man Utd coaching team want the team’s defensive players to move the ball to the attacking third more quickly, which will in turn enable the attackers to feed Ronaldo and take advantage of opponents being out of shape at the back and it is being reported that work is currently ongoing on the training pitch for the actualization of this.

There is great belief among the Man Utd coaching staff that the team has the right personnel to help actualize their aim and Raphaël Varane is seen as key to the working of the new system. They believe that the Frenchman’s arrival from Real Madrid has helped improve the team’s speed of play with him being more capable of moving the ball forward with pace and precision than Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly.

Ronaldo has scored 3 premier league goals and 2 champions league goals since his return from Juventus in the summer and was Man Utd’s saving grace in their 2-1 win UCL win over Villareal in midweek.
