Manchester United and England defender Luke Shaw has been nominated for the prestigious NWFA Premier League player of the season for 2021.
The Northwest Football awards is the UK’s biggest regional awards and it seeks to celebrate excellence on and off the pitch.
Luke Shaw was one of Manchester United’s most important player last season as he had 5 Premier League assists for the Red devils and created more than half a century of chances for his Manchester United teammates throughout the 2020/21 season.
Shaw has unreal creativity for a defender and the left-back over the past couple of seasons has grown to be one of the best in the game. He has made the left-back position his own at Manchester United keeping out last summer’s acquisition Alex Telles.
The 26 year old’s quality has also shown and spoken for him in the three Lions set up as he’s preferred by Gareth Southgate as first choice ahead of the likes of Chelsea’s Ben Chilwell, West Ham’s Aaron Cresswell and other top left fullbacks fighting for a spot in the England squad.
Luke Shaw was very impressive for England in the Euros as he contributes in leading his nation to their first major final in decades. The Englishman would be looking to continue that form and help Manchester United win trophies this season.
