Transfer deadline day is officially upon us and clubs right across England will be busy trying to wrap up those last-minute deals.
Whilst several Premier League sides will be keen to add one or two new faces to their squads before tonight’s 11pm deadline, Chelsea are unlikely to be one of them.
Amid deadline day suspense, former Chelsea striker Diego Costa could be set for a sensational transfer deadline day return to the Premier League.
The striker was released by La Liga giants Atletico Madrid in December 2020 and could now make a return to the Premier League
That is according to a report by Sky Sports, who claim the Spaniard has been offered the chance to sign for an unnamed top-six Premier League club for the remainder of the season.
It remains unclear who the unnamed club is, but it will be one of Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Leicester City, West Ham United or Tottenham Hotspur, with those currently making up the Premier League’s top six spot.
