According to recent reports by Metro, Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has promoted five academy youngsters at the club to first-team training for the upcoming FA Cup clash this weekend.
The London giants are scheduled to play English League Two side Morecambe FC in the third round of the Emirates FA cup.
The game was previously in huge doubt to hold due to covid-19 strike in Morecambe’s camp, but is now expected to go ahead.
The match is expected to be a walkover for Chelsea as Frank Lampard is expected to rest key players for the upcoming FA cup game.
Due to this development, five academy youngsters have been promoted to the first team temporarily and have been training with the first team.
The five players promoted according to reports are: Faustino Anjorin, Lewis Bate, Henry Lawrence, Tino Livramento and 16-year-old Jude Soonsup-Bell.
With five subs being allowed in the FA cup, it is very likely all five players will get game time against Morecambe.
It’s still very unclear to know if any of the five youngsters with start the match.
Tino Anjorin – who has been a regular in the club’s match day squad this season and even got a deserve start in a Champions League game against Krasnodar – is the most likely to start on Sunday.
Chelsea are going into this match with a rough form, winning just one of their last six games.
