Arsenal are already making plans for the transfer windows in 2021.

Mikel Arteta’s first two windows since being appointed Gunners manager has seen him mainly focus on improving his side’s defence, with Cedric Soares, Pablo Mari, and Gabriel Magalhaes all arriving in the calender year.

But attention has since turned to bolstering Arsenal’s midfield options and the summer deadline day signing of Thomas Partey – for £45m from Atletico Madrid – is just the beginning.

And there’s been a major development regarding Szoboszlai and the north London outfit.

According to reports, as cited by Sport Witness, the Hungarian’s agent has held talks with Arsenal regarding a move which could take place next summer.

Furthermore, it’s claimed that the midfielder has a €25m (£22m) release clause in his contract at Salzburg, perhaps making him more affordable than Aouar.

On transfermarkt, the France international’s value is £45m which means Edu can save the Gunners just over £20m by pursuing a deal for Szoboszlai.

With that said, Arsenal could face strong competition for the latter should his impressive performances – especially in the Champions League
