Kanté took his overall man of the match awards in the just concluded UEFA Champions League competition to four, following his all round display against Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League final, denying the citizens’ the luxury of winning the UEFA Champions League for the first time in their history.

N’golo Kanté’s jaw-dropping performances in the 2020/2021 season has led to Chelsea legend John Terry backing the Frenchman to win the ballon d’or award as he believes that Kanté has met all requirements needed to win the award (ballon d’or).

He said, “Kante’s like 11 players on his own.

“What he does, he goes so under the radar. He is such a top-class player.

“I’d love to go see him win the Ballon d’Or or get the appreciation that I feel he deserves.”

“He’s such a humble guy. He just goes about his business and keeps out of any trouble.

“He’s been a great asset for the football club and we are very lucky to have at Chelsea for sure.”

John Terry also gave his verdict on N’golo Kanté’s contractual terms with Chelsea as he believes that the former Leicester man should commit his long term future to Chelsea.

“N’Golo still has so much to give over the next few years. He’s one of the fittest players I’ve come across as well,” claims the former Chelsea captain.

“It would be great to see Chelsea tie him down and keep him at the football club.”

N’golo Kanté however is not the only Chelsea player that has been tipped to win the ballon d’or as Jorginho has also been lauded to win the award (ballon d’or) following recent victories with Chelsea and Italy.

The former Napoli star won the Euro 2020 trophy with Italy a few months after he won the UEFA Champions League with Chelsea. The 28 year old Italian also recently won the UEFA Super Cup for Chelsea and hereby taking his European trophies tally to three.
