The Blues lifted the UEFA Super Cup in Belfast for the Second time in the history of Chelsea.
After an intense 90 minutes of play which resulted in 2 goals. Chelsea played a 1-1 draw in the 90minutes of play to Extra time which eventually yielded no solid result.
The Extra time was ended at a 1-1 draw by both Chelsea and Villarreal. Subsequent changes where made by Chelsea as well as Villarreal to penalty shootouts.
Kepa Arizabalaga who replaced Edwardo Mendy in the last minutes of the game save 2 penalties for Chelsea but the Villarreal Goalkeeper was able to secure one of the penalties which Chelsea won the UEFA Super Cup by (5-6) penalties.
Chelsea has only won the UEFA Super Cup Trophy twice in the history of the English club.
