Manchester United mifielder Bruno Fernandes has revealed that fellow team mate Paul Pogba promised him that the pair would have a good understanding playing together for Manchester United.
After months of speculation, the Portugese midfielder put pen to paper for Manchester United last January.
He has since had a good spell at the club, winning three Premier League Player of the Month within that period.
Manchester United fans were initially force to wait to see both Bruno and Pogba play together due to an injury the Frenchman was suffering at that time.
While speaking to NBC Sports, Fernandes revealed that he spoke to Pogba frequently during that recovery period.
In his words, he said:
“The relationship I have with Paul is good, He speaks Italian and I speak Italian, from the beginning I knew him from Italy and he knows me. It was easy to work with him.
“Straight away when I arrived, he was injured. I saw him recovering and training on the pitch away from us.
“He was calling me sometimes when I was training and he said: ‘I’m seeing the games, I’m seeing your movement, don’t worry. When I’m fit, I will show you that I can find you. I see you move, you move to the right and to the left, in behind. When I come back, I will show you how I can find you a lot.’
“It shows you the confidence he gives to you, like when he comes back, he’s trying to help you become better and you help him to become better.”
The Portuguese further added that he spoke with Pogba because he knows the club better than him at that time.
“Yeah I spoke with him because he knows the club better than me. He gave me some advice. It was important for me. I think I would have joined the club anyway but when you speak with Cristiano it’s always better.
“We just spoke about the club, how its so big and how it would be good for me. The opportunity I would have to join such a big club. To have a chance to fight for my trophies. This is the biggest advice he gave to me.
“He said: ‘Just go, enjoy it, you will love the fans, they will love you so just try to enjoy your game and the best of you will come’.”
