Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta have dropped hints on when contract talks with the club’s French striker Alexandre Lacazette will begin.
The Frenchman has netted nine goals and is currently Arsenal’s top scorer this season.
But unfortunately his contract will be up in 18 months’ time and contract talks between both parties have still not begun.
This is becoming a major concern amongst worrying Arsenal fans who want the French striker to stay at the club.
The wary is expected to reduce a little as Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has now confirmed that the club will hold contract talks with Alexandre Lacazette and his entourage in the summer.
In his words, he said:
“We will talk in the summer and make a decision on what is going to happen,” he said.
“We haven’t talked about anything relating to his contract. I’m delighted with the way he is performing, the goals he is scoring and the form and energy he is in at the moment. He needs to keep doing that.”
Lacazette joined Arsenal from Lyon for a fee around £46.5million in 2017 and has scored 57 goals in 146 games for the London club.
The striker scored twice in the second half in Arsenal’s triumphant 4-0 win against the magpies.
