Arsenal main transfer target speaks to Arteta, tell him his best position

According to recent reports by football.london, Arsenal manager have reportedly made personal contact with Borussia Dortmund winger Julian Brandt.

Despite the bad run of form in the club’s closing games of 2020, Arsenal has begun 2021 in a really fantastic form.

The London club isn’t just showing better ambition on the pitch, they are also showing good ambition in trying to complete good transfers.

Arsenal are reported to be in search of a winger and a creative midfielder in this January window.

Due to this development, Arsenal have being strongly linked to 24-year-old Julian Brandt, who can play on the wings as well as in attacking midfield.

It is reported Borussia Dortmund as requesting a fee in a the region of £25million from Arsenal to sell the German winger off to them.

It is believed that if Arsenal completes the signing of Julian Brandt, he will played in a number 10 role given that is his favorite position.

Speaking in an interview with German outlet Sport Bild back in 2019, Brandt admitted his preferred position is attacking midfield.

In his words, he said:

“For me, it’s optimal. I feel really good there. I waited a long time to be able to show what I can do in the middle.

“When I played up top, I was also in a central position, but playing as a striker wasn’t easy for me. I’m not a player like Romelu Lukaku.

Given that statement, it isn’t bad to assume that the German will play in his preferred attacking midfield role if he joins Arsenal, given that role is in demand at the club.

Brandt is currently struggling for form this season, scoring just once and providing one assist in 22 games.
