The 2012 UEFA Champions League Final was an association football match which took place on Saturday, 19 May 2012 between Bayern Munich of Germany and Chelsea of England at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany. The match was to decide the winner of the 2011/2012 of the UEFA, Champions League Europe’s premier club football tournament.
Thomas Muller gave Bayern the lead 8 minutes to the final whistle blow. (1-0) Chelsea fans felt devastated but thanks to Didier Drogba who made an equaliser in the 88th minute. (1-1)
The match was extended to extra time where Didier Drogba caused a penalty opportunity for Bayern. Arjen Robben missed the penalty, with Petr Čech saving the low drive. (1-1)
The game went to a penalty shootout, which Chelsea won to earn their first Champions league title (4-3) with Didier Drogba on the last shot for Chelsea making it a goal and becoming THE MAN OF THE MATCH.
